Joseph E. Cuellar joined the firm following a clerkship with the San Antonio Court of Appeals. Mr. Cuellar assisted Justice Luz Elena D. Chapa by helping to draft opinions in a wide variety of appeals, including those dealing with the resolution of complex commercial and tort litigation issues. Prior to his judicial clerkship, Mr. Cuellar studied classical languages and literature with a focus on Greek and Latin cultures at Yale University. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009.
Following his studies at Yale, Mr. Cuellar studied law at the University Of Texas School Of Law, earning his Juris Doctor degree in 2012. In law school, Mr. Cuellar distinguished himself at a member of the American Journal of Criminal Law and as a member of the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity. While attending law school, Mr. Cuellar also worked as an appellate law clerk in the Travis County Attorney's Office.
At Valdez & Treviño, Mr. Cuellar primarily focuses his practice on catastrophic tort and commercial litigation, professional malpractice, and administrative law issues.
