Ms. McQuiston is a litigator who has handled civil defense cases ranging from personal injury to to intentional tort claims brought against elected officials. She has practiced at all levels of Texas State Courts and successfully defended a prominent Bexar County official in an intentional tort case appealed to the Texas Supreme Court.
Ms. McQuiston graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in History from the Honors College - Interdisciplinary Core at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and received her Juris Doctor degree from Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law in Macon, Georgia. While in Law School, she was an active competitor in the Intraschool Moot Court Competition and was twice selected to represent her law school on the Mock Trial Team.
Before joining Valdez & Trevino, Ms. McQuiston was with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office in the Civil Division defending the county from state court civil claims. She has also practiced with one of the largest plaintiff firms in San Antonio, which has given her a unique perspective on the defense side.
Ms. McQuiston has been recognized as a “2020 Top Insurance Defense Lawyer” and “2021 Rising Star Lawyer” by Scene in S.A. Magazine. She is a native of San Antonio and can often be found on the hiking trails with her husband and their three dogs.
