Courtney was raised in Plainview, Texas. She graduated in 2016 from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After graduation, she interned in the Texas House during the 85th Legislative Session in 2017. She then worked in insurance subrogation before attending St. Mary’s University School of Law, where she graduated as a John Marshall Harlan Society scholar in 2023. She was a member of Phi Delta Phi and a staff writer on the St. Mary’s University Law Journal. While in school, she clerked in-house for a major insurance carrier before joining Valdez & Trevino.
