Michael M Machado

Professional Experience & Affiliation

With over thirty years of trial experience, Mike Machado, has distinguished himself as a tough and seasoned litigator handling a variety of cases and representing the interests of his clients in jury trials, and through the mazes of various administrative hearings and settlement negotiations.

His experience in all state and federal courts throughout Texas has resulted in both jury trial and administrative hearing victories from El Paso to Texarkana, Amarillo to Brownsville, and most points in between. He has successfully litigated in federal and state courts, and defended individuals charged with RICO violations by law enforcement organizations as diverse as the FBI, DEA, ATF, Office of the Inspectors General for Texas, the United States Department of Justice, the Texas Rangers, the Attorney General of Texas, and dozens of local municipal and county agencies. He has also tried cases in venues as diverse as New Orleans, Louisiana, Cincinnati, Ohio and South Bend, Indiana.

He has successfully defended various retail establishments in suits brought against them under the Texas Dram Shop Act in both state and federal courts. Though many of his clients are Fortune 500 companies, on an individual level he has also represented their employees who were sued, and/or charged with Texas Alcoholic Beverages Code and Texas Penal Code violations for “over serving” customers (always against the testimony of various law enforcement officers and undercover TABC agents) – having won dismissals of all charges against each person.

Machado has successfully defended corporations and individuals who were sued in complex multi-million-dollar cases involving ordinary, gross, and willful negligence which resulted in death and catastrophic injuries.

His caseload is focused on the defense of catastrophic tort cases as well as business and commercial litigation, professional liability, premises liability, toxic torts, healthcare regulatory violations, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and trucking litigation.
